Memberships, The Highlands Golf Club, Grand Rapids, Michigan

Dear Highland’s members and prospective members:

It has been a pleasure to be able to be a part of The Highlands Golf Club and the golf operation for the past three years. The Highlands is a fantastic golf course and I am proud to be able to serve the members and guests at this great facility. Even as the 2010 golf season nears an end, I am already looking forward to a terrific 2011 golf season.

Membership packets for 2011 are now available. Please note the first page highlighting some of the exciting new changes for 2011. Membership fees are lower for early pay, there is a positive change in the age requirement for a senior discount, and a higher commission fee if you refer a new member. Many of our Watrous members ran out of rounds very early this season and paid green fees to play many more rounds. We are offering a significant discount if a 2010 Watrous member purchases a Ross membership in 2011. We have also eliminated the additional charge for a family membership. Families will only have to pay the couples rate as the theme for 2011 is “kids play free”. Children and grandchildren under the age of 23 will play free under their parent’s membership plan.

The Highlands Golf Staff will also reserve blocks of times for members only in 2011. The times are listed on the ‘highlights” page of the membership packet. Should you find a need for us to block off additional times, please contact me as the season nears so I can accommodate your needs. Standing tee times will again be available in 2011 for those who wish the same starting time each week. The Highlands staff would also like to organize a men’s and women’s golf committee. If you have an interest, please contact me. We look forward to your input and assistance in coordinating member events, etc.

We hope that you will consider a golf membership at The Highlands in 2011. It is not a requirement that you join the Elks Lodge #48 in order to purchase a golf membership, however a $100.00 bonus credit will be given to all those that join or renew their Elks membership and purchase a Donald Ross golf membership.

The Highlands Golf Club is also proud to be the home of the Dugan’s Pub & Grille and the Glendevon Banquet & Meeting Center. Your golfing experience will not be complete without an after golf drink and meal in Dugan’s. Join the Dugan’s Pub Club and earn reward points towards future dining. Highlands golf members and Elks members earn Gold status points. Please contact Dugan’s for further details.
